1 Day course - On this course you will be guided through the features on your digital SLR camera and how to use them effectively. The contents of this course are as follows.
  • Understanding your camera & its functions
  • Aperture priority & shutter priority
  • Understanding histograms
  • ISO settings
  • Achieving correct exposures
  • Depth of Field
  • Use of Filters
  • Metering Modes
  • Composition
We will visit a couple of locations around the island to develop your shooting skills.

This course is also suitable for non beginners wanted to further their knowledge and tecnique to make better photos, by using neutral density filters, graduated filters, polorisors & more in depth use of camera settings if you use a "non entry level camera".  Each photographer can work at their own level, the group sizes are small to ensure one to one tuition during the day.

     2 Day Course

Day 1 You will be shown all the skills you need to use your digital SLR effectively in a variety of locations around the island to include landscapes/seascapes/glens.  some basic Photoshop elements tuition. (Ideal software to enhance and manipulate your images for those on a budget). New addition to workshop,  photoshop elements conversion from Raw files, with some basics to get you started with enhancing your images, includes staightening horizons, colour curves, levels, cropping, using the clone tool to eliminate objects, and much more.

 

Day 2 You will have the opportunity to shoot either sunrise/sunset depending on the time of year. (Both in winter/ or attending holidays).  we will also visit a glen to experiment with filters and slow shutters speeds to capture the flowing waterfalls & streams.

 

If you already know how to use your digital SLR this course can still offer more advanced tecniques to improve your photography skills further. Everyone can work to their own abilites, that's the beauty of working in small groups. ( Using Neutral density filters, graduated filters, polorisors, how to avoid camera shake, the importance of using a tripod and much more).

The Isle of Man is a beautiful Island with a multitude of photographic opportunities from picturesque land/seascapes with over 100 miles of ruggged coastline to stunning waterfalls located in some of the Island’s idyllic national Glens. We promise an action packed break, visiting a variety of locations including historical sites with ancient burial grounds, and much more .

 Brief outline itinerary.
 
Welcome meeting  on arrival at B&B 7pm at  B&B. Dinner.
 
 Spend two days visiting a variety of loctions islandwide, Sunrise and sunset locations to suit the time of year.  Meals times will vary again according to time of year of holiday booked.

Collection from & to  Sea terminal, transport to B&B. 3 nights stay in  comfortable accomodation with wifi and ensuite facilities. All meals included. Transport during your stay. course notes.
